Annual ranking reveals that Colombia has the best hospitals and clinics in Latin America

Talent, innovation and service explain why Colombia leads the annual ranking of the best clinics and hospitals in Latin America. According to America Economía magazine's annual ranking of clinics and hospitals in Latin America, Colombia leads the region with 22 of the best institutions out of 43 in the list. Medellin's General Hospital leads the ranking as the best public health institution in Latin America. 


America Economía —a leading Latin American publication based in Chile— recently published its 2015 annual ranking of the best clinics and hospitals in Latin America. The publication evaluated 43 institutions and included quality parameters such as an inspection of installed capacity, patient security and dignity, human capital, knowledge management, efficiency and prestige. 

The ranking reveals that Colombia has 22 of the best health institutions out of 43 that were evaluated in the region. Medellin's General Hospital leads the ranking as the best public health institution in Latin America. Valle del Lili Clinic —located in Cali, Colombia— jumped from fifth place in 2014 to third in 2015, becoming the best Colombian health institution. Valle de Lili's achievements knowledge management achievements are worthy of recognition. In 2010, Valle del Lili had a biannual scientific output of 40 research papers, while today it reaches 108 indexed publications. This represents a 63% growth, which means a noticeable increase in investment in research and the effects of its alliances and strategic partnerships with national and international institutions.

This news is a confirmation of the strength of Colombia's health infrastructure.
